Simeon Barclay (b. Huddersfield, 1975) lives and works in West Yorkshire. Barclay received his BA from Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds in 2010 and an MFA from Goldsmiths College, London in 2014. In 2020 Barclay was selected to be included in the British Art Show 9. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally including at Southbank Centre, Tate Britain, South London Gallery, Workplace, Gathering, London; Liverpool Biennial, Liverpool; Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Workplace Foundation, Gateshead; Holden Gallery, Manchester; The Tetley, Leeds; Cubitt Gallery, London; The Bluecoat, Liverpool; Jerwood Space, London; Galerie Kandlhofer, Vienna; Rodolphe Janssen, Brussels; Arcadia Missa, New York and W139, Amsterdam.
His work is in the Arts Council Collection, London; Zabludowicz Collection, London; Manchester Art Gallery and Whitworth Art Gallery collection, Manchester. Barclay is currently included in this year’s Sculpture In The City, working on a major new commission for Deutsche Bank and will be taking part in this year’s Chester Contemporary.
Persilia Caton is Collections Curator at Artangel. She oversees the presentation of film and video works from the Collection in galleries, museums and festivals across the UK. With an artist-led approach that supports meaningful experiences for artists and audiences, Persilia has a background in commissioning, artist development, public programming, large-scale projects in the public realm, socially engaged collaborations, community outreach and audience development—in person and online. She is experienced in working outside of formal gallery spaces and interested in responding to different contexts.
In 2021, Persilia curated the outcome exhibition for the Southbank Centre’s Art by Post project that provided activities for people who are at risk for social isolation, loneliness and digital exclusion. For a decade she has been working at small and large-scale arts organisations in London, contributing to curatorial development in commissions, exhibitions and public programming departments, including Southbank Centre, SPACE, Wellcome Collection and The Photographers’ Gallery. Previous to that she worked at arts organisations in Toronto, Canada, such as CONTACT Photography Festival and The Power Plant.
Tim Dixon is Deputy Director at Matt’s Gallery, London. He holds a BA in Fine Art from The University of Reading and an MA in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths, University of London. Prior to working at Matt’s Gallery he worked as an independent curator and writer, completing a two-year associate curatorship at Grand Union, Birmingham and contributing features, reviews and interviews to Art Monthly. Matt’s Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Nine Elms, London. It has supported the making of new and innovative work since its foundation in the studio of Robin Klassnik OBE in 1979. Matt’s Gallery is a registered charity and Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. During its time Matt’s Gallery has championed the work of artists such as Willie Doherty, Jimmie Durham, Susan Hiller, Mike Nelson, Lindsay Seers, and Imogen Stidworthy.
Alona Pardo is Head of Programme at Arts Council Collection. Prior to joining the Arts Council Collection, Alona Pardo was a senior curator at the Barbican for over a decade, curating large scale thematic shows including most recently RE/SISTERS: A Lens on Gender and Ecology (2023); Masculinities: Liberation through Photography (2020) and Dorothea Lange: The Politics of Visibility (2018) amongst many others alongside commissioning numerous large scale site-specific commissions in The Curve including Trevor Paglen: From Apple to Anomaly (2019); Richard Mosse: Incoming (2017); Eddie Peake (2015); Roman Signer: Slow Movement (2014); Damian Ortega: The Independent (2012) and Leandro Ehrlich: Dalston House (2011).
