Project Idea: Inspiring Art Education
Sunderland Culture wants to apply to the Freelands Foundation for a £450,000 grant to deliver a three-year collaborative professional development project to enrich art education for children and young people with special educational needs. The project focusses on teachers and seeks to build creative confidence by empowering SEND teachers’ to enhance and develop their skills and practice for teaching art. Sunderland Culture programmes Arts Centre Washington, National Glass Centre, Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art and Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens, and we are working with Inspired Sunderland, our local cultural education partnership on this proposal.
