Club Six Twenty

Welcome to Club Six Twenty!

A place to explore, get creative and have a good time.

A new immersive live arts club night from theatre company, The Six Twenty, celebrating raw local talent, created by a crack team of independent artists, musicians and technicians.

In August 2021, this fun and fabulous neon playground of live music, performance and digital art took over Independent Sunderland, serving banging live music from the likes of MXYM and PICNIC, DJ sets, pop-up aerial performance, art/film installations and plenty of surprises.

Attendees were invited to leave their troubles at the door and to immerse themselves in the unique and wonderful world of Club Six Twenty. We cracked our glow-sticks and danced the night away!

You can relive this fun and fabulous night by checking out our Club 620 photo gallery and by playing and interacting with digital artist Ronan Devlin’s digital wall, just like club goers did on the night.

In Flow by Ronan Devlin

Club Six Twenty featured an exciting interactive artwork In Flow, an immersive ‘mixed reality’ experience that
created real-time interaction and engagement between live and remote audiences. This experimental digital artwork & tool aimed to reflect, support, and enhance the variety of vibrant performances and art forms presented in real and virtual space at The Six Twenty events.

In Flow is a generative software artwork that continually change its audio-visual conditions in response to its audience. Influenced by electron microscopy, the artwork imagines an atomic-resolution view of our world. The work’s visual form resonates and changes state through participation, creating a perpetually unfolding scape of moiré pattern.

Ronan’s work, made across print, screen, and multi-sensory installation, focuses on audience engagement and looks at the intersection of connection, emotion, sense perception, and the material world.

PHOTOSENSITIVITY WARNING: Viewer discretion is advised. This artwork contains flashing and moving, high contrasting light and dark patterns which could trigger a seizure or other symptoms in photosensitive individuals.
